C++/C# Programmer/Analyst

Location: Rochester, NY
Innovative Solutions currently has a position available for a Programmer/Analyst for .NET/SQL. This is a junior-level position with 0 - 2 years experience (post-graduate). Must be detailed oriented and have strong written and oral communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Custom Client-Server Applications Software Programming
    • Designing
    • Coding
    • Testing
    • Debugging
  • Identifying and Meeting Client Needs
    • Consulting with clients to gather information about program needs and objectives, function, features and input and output requirements
    • Consulting with clients to prototype, refine, test and debug programs to meet needs
  • Customer Focus
    • Providing technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems or questions about programs
    • Installing and testing programs at client site and monitoring performance of programs after implementation

Required Technical Experience

  • BS in MIS/Computer Information Technology/Computer Science
  • 0 - 2 years experience (Junior position)
  • Visual C++, Visual C#, and Win32 API Skills
  • Experience working with SQL based databases
  • Strong testing and debugging skills
  • Thorough documentation skills

Required Personal Attributes

  • Independently motivated and detail oriented
  • Ability to interact positively and effectively with customers and prospects
  • Establish self as a team member of the company, able to participate and work as a team player complimenting the unique attributes of the existing team
  • Strong ability to multi-task and efficiently manage time. We have many clients, with lots of different needs
  • Drive for results; maintain a sense of urgency and commitment to the goal of achieving results on time and within budget
  • The need to do a job better than anyone else

Preferred Experience

  • Experience developing client-server applications
  • Experience debugging complex client-server applications
  • Experience working with TCP/IP and serial communications
  • Experience working with WPF
  • Experience in setting up and configuring Windows domains
